Hi, I'm planning on attending the recorded music program @ NYU for my junior year. I'm attending a community college at the moment and well on my way to receiving an associates degree in commercial music. I have also completed my general ed. (based on university of california standards). In addition to my recommendation and portfolio, what would you say are other determining factors for admittance?

If that specific program requires you to write a personal statement as part of the application, then make sure it's flawless and great in every way. I know some people who had horrible grades, but got into NYU's competitive film program because of their personal statement. I'm assuming NYU takes personal statements very seriously. So make sure it's a good one. Good luck, I hope you get in!!
