Both are easy to use. Firefox is the best because it is safer.

Internet Explorer has had multiple security problems that hackers have exploited. Everytime Microsoft releases an update to fix the security issues, it's just a matter of time before some hacker uncovers a new one.

If you want to browse safely and securely, use Firefox as your primary browser. A small amount of the time you may run into a site or feature on a site that won't work with explorer. When that happens, then use IE just for that site (If it's a site that you trust).

Firefox is open to developers, so new add-ons and features are constantly being released for it. If you start using Firefox, you'll notice it's a little faster and I think you'll like the way it can be customized.

One must have add-on is a feature that lets you right click on a link and gives you a menu option to open that link in a IE tab in the same browser window.

My opinion Firefox is easier to use.
And the fact is, it's more secure.

Evidence:

Compare each browsers patched and unpatched holes, make sure you also compare how "critical" these holes are to each browser. The conclusion is that no browser is perfect, but Insecure Exploder is the least secure browser you can be using.

United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team:
"There are a number of significant vulnerabilities in technologies related to the IE domain/zone security model,...ActiveX (etc)...It is possible to reduce exposure to these vulnerabilities by using a different web browser"

PcWorld Magazine:
"...a virtual engraved invitation to hackers and other digital delinquents, Internet Explorer 6.x might be the least secure software on the planet"

One thought for the road:
Incontinent Exploder supports web standards very poorly. This means that because of over 80% of users use IE, then web developers have to downgrade their websites to work properly in IE. So when superior browsers such as Firefox or Opera browsers view a website, it sometimes does not show up correctly because the website was "broken" to show up properly in IE. Try the test yourself using IE, Firefox and then Opera.

Firefox.

People who don't know anything about firefox (IE uses) will say IE.
I especially like the colour change you can make fox have.
Mine is black and red :)
It's not boring anymore,
but back on the path...

Firefox is faster, and it is 'smarter' in the sence, that you can store for information in the browser
(like passwords, words or websites)

hope this gives you a little insight =]

Firefox is definitely faster than IE! It also just has a cleaner look and feel to it. But sometimes pages look funny, but that's rare and minor. I use Firefox first as primary. Firefox also gives you a dollar for every person you sign up to use it. :-)

I've heard a lot of complaints about Firefox not allowing web pages to be viewed correctly.

Opera without a doubt. But since you didn't ask about Opera, next would be Firefox. Also be careful w/ IE7, it's still a beta.
