My first bike was a Suzuki, then I had a Kawasaki and my latest bike is a Harley. I, like a lot of people, had the idea that Harleys were not as good as the Jap bikes. That was until I rode one. It was like I had never ridden a bike before. It is an entirely different feel than the Jap bikes. Some people like it and others don't. I felt like I was part of the bike and not just sitting on top of it like when I rode my Kawasaki. I don't want a plush ride either. If you want Lazy Boy comfort try your chair in your living room. I also don't need to go 0-60 at mach one. I enjoy the wind and nature and don't mind if I can't accelerate like a race bike. They say, once you ride a Harley you always will. How true. I love my Harley and will never ride anything else.

What you have said here simply isn't true. Motorcycle riders are like fisherman. They don't always tell the truth. I used to ride a Harley Bad Boy. I thought it was a great bike until I had to ride it more than 300 miles on a trip. It beat me to death. Enter The Honda Gold Wing. Never had a better bike and am on my third one. Will NEVER go back to a Harley.
Some people are too wrapped up in the "macho mystique" to ever admit that their Harley isn't all they wished it was. But hey - to each their own.

As an addition:
Do you know why Harley riders are made to ride at the back of a group of non-Harley riders? So the non-Harley riders don't have to spend the entire ride dodging parts that fall off the Harleys.

Some might but not me....road Honda's for 35 years traded my 2001 Gold Wing for a 2003 Heritage soft tail and I love the way it handles and Harley has come a long way in the reliability department

Not true. A friend of mine had a honda goldwing for 10 years. He sold it to try a new full dressed harley. He rode it for 1 year and traded it in at a honda dealer and guess what? He bought a new goldwing.

That's not true in all instances. Some do realize their stupid mistake and try to get what money they can out of that overpriced piece of trailer jewelry.

Then they go buy a reliable bike that doesn't have to be rebuilt every 500 miles.

They realized that the japanese bikes were super fast and they have zero skill so they trade to get a dinosaur that they can putt around on in parades and still feel like a motorcyclist.
