Plastic! Easier to reuse but paper is easier to recycle!

I get both depending on whats going in them, heavy bottles get paper, and the rest gets plastic. And we recycle them both.

Paper! Those darn plastic bags don't hold much. I also have a toddler, so it's just safer for me to avoid plastic bags.

paper for me, we've all been there you pick out your 5 pounds of tomatoes for the chili recipe during the week but they always fit all of them in one plastic bag, so now you are driving home and you open the trunk to get your groceries and you've managed to find your house key wedged in your front pocket so you start walking to your front door and suddenly your tomatoes are falling thru a bag thats probably meant to hold 3 pounds of stuff rolls down to the car

I use either one. I prefer paper for heavier items, though, because most of the paper bags now are so thin that they break before you get your groceries in the house.

Plastic, because they are easier to store for when you need them. I use them to clean the litterbox with and put the excess cat litter in them for disposal.
