Being cold blooded, it depends on how active he is under the water and how warm the water is. Low activity and low temps means slower metabolism and thus less of a need for oxygen. They can stay under water all winter because they aren't doing anything and the temp is so cold.

It depends on many factors but an hour is not unreasonable.

During hibernation, they can stay underwater almost indefinately because they way they use and obtain air changes.

usually up to 20 minutes but they are inquisitive and only stay under for about 5
