Hey!

I would suggest you approach this project by breaking down the regions you are going to study. Think of maybe three areas of the USA with mountains and then research those areas seperately, you'll have more luck doing that than trying to do it all at the same time! Here are some ideas to get you started: http://freespace.virgin.net/john.cletheroe/usa_can/mountain/index.htm

Good luck!

I cannot believe that neither YAHOO nor Google has any(?) link to mountanous areas.
I would consider using a few less fuzzy search keywords. Have you tried fuzzy-searches like "Colorado Mountain range" or simply "Mountain_vegetation.com"?
I am sure that NOAA weather has a site posting radar weather conditions all over the globe.
Consider asking one of your local weather broadcasting stations or even a few of your local News stations as I know that they appreciate your using them as a link for searches.

This URL gives you the climate results over the years for the Rocky Mountains: http://www.rockymountainclimate.org/change_1.htm
It might help you a little.
