I'm doing a diy landscaping on my back yard. I wanted it to be a resting place with flowers.......I have all the tools i needed, wood plank, cement, tiles, flowers..... but i don't know how to start it. i have never done any lanscaping before. what should i do,.... i kinda want to this myself so that i can brag to my relatives about my diy backyard this coming holiday. I already draft my plan, but don't know how to start. Should i clean all the grasses and cut the tree..... ?

Reduce your picture plan to words. example:
I want a waterfall running into a pond, with a small bridge, with stepping stones, etc.
steps to take: 1- dig hole for pond
2-place liner for pond and waterfall
3-install waterline, pump etc.

Get the idea? I hope this helps. It's always hardest to get started

Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

YEP, I WOULD START WITH DIGGING IT UP & GETTING OUT ALL THE GRASS, LEVEL IT, ADD TOPSOIL IF YOUR SOIL ISN'T GOOD & PROBABLY WOULDN'T HURT TO MIX SOME FRESH TOPSOIL ANYWAY. DO YOUR TIMBERS OR WHATEVER, I USE AN EDGING TOO & DEPENDING MAYBE THAT WEED-X TYPE LINER .. THEN PLANT & MULCH WELL
