Ethology deals with the study of animal behavior. Ecologists study the interactions among different animals inside an ecosystem. So an animal's behavior (ethology) is varied and changes with the ecology of the surrounding area (how the other animals may cause some change in this animal's usual behavior).

If say a seal were to dive into the water, he would change his behavior depending upon what other animals are in the area---if it's some small fish he likes to eat, he will likely follow the prey and try to catch it. If it were a larger predator, then it is likely he will change directions, hide, or swim away to avoid predation.

Hmmm... I thought it was the rhyme. Like in poetry:

How should I ethology
Or how much I ecology
But I love psychology
