I am trying to save a typed document to a cd-r disk so I can take the disk to the library and print it out. I just purchased a new computer and it doesn't have a floppy disk so I really don't know how to save my work so I can print it out somewhere else because I do not have a printer.

Text documents are really small and if you use that on a cd it would be a waste. I suggest you to send your file to your email (attachment), and access your email at school and save your document to the desktop and print. If you don't know how, you could also copy and paste on to an email, and paste it back into a document at school.

the best thing would be is to buy USB memory stick, or save the files that you want to print to your e-mail, i'm sure that most libraries has access to Internet, why waste cd disk for something like that...

SAVING a document to a REMOVEABLE disk (media) would depend upon your Operating system.
I use WIN XP and whenever I save any document or file, I click on my taskbar (atop) on FILE. From here, I am given the option to choose where I want to save this;
(File directories A:\ or B:\ (my stiiffie drives) or C:\ my hard drive (and subdirectories) or D:\ or E:\ (my CDRom drives.)
Here ^ I click on the drive-selection box and I save to my removeable media (CDRom) after I type the Filename I want to save.
Oh! - Make sure you do use a RW (Read Write) disk. If you cannot WRITE to this removeable media, I guess you are out of luck. :-(

I hope this helps.
