You definitely need a 220v outlet to hook up an electric dryer. There is no such thing as an adapter. A heavy duty cable would have to be run from the breaker panel. Call an electrician.

Electric Dryer Hookup

You may have a problem,,,especially if the landlord won't help.

You don't state,,,and perhaps don't know, if your electric service is individual to your apt. or if it's shared.

The issue is you'd need a breaker installed, in the breaker box, that allows the power to the dryer, then the wiring to a receptacle.

You'd also need to know the total amperage coming into the breaker, and an electrician to split that out for 220,,, similar to how the 110's are split out.

Bad Idea. While people do many things to rental housing , opening a panel box and installing a designated circuit should not be one of those things. Buy a gas dryer it will be cheaper than having an electrician come out to install the line.

Buy a gas dryer. They work better, are cheaper to operate & will cost less than changing the electric to 220.

Seems pretty simple to me -- trade your 220v dryer for a gas dryer -- other wise your cost will be higher solving this minor problem. With a gas dryer-- you already have the 110v there and the gas hookup -- what could be easier.

Unfortunately for you, you might have to buy another dryer or ask the landlord to wire up a 220 circuit for you.

theres no way to wire the two 110V outlets into one 220V outlet.

you need an electrician in there to wire an outlet but as far as i know, any type of cord that's temporary to the main panel is against the NEC2005 (electrical code)

you'll have to call an electrician unless you feel comfortable running 220 from circuit breaker..
