For example, I will NEVER get Geico insurance because they have the dumbest commercials, they are quite annoying actually. And if the product has great commercials, does that make you want to buy it even more? Does a really good commercial convince you to buy something that you normally wouldn't buy?

I don't really pay attention to commercials. But I will NEVER buy Head On...Apply Directly to The Forehead. I HATE that one.

If the commercials are really bad I probably will not patronize the sponsor.

It doesn't necessarily compute that I will patronize someone with good commercials, however. For example, the Capitol 1 commercials are great, and very entertaining, but I would never get that card because I've heard too many bad things about their business practices and finance charges.

A good product needs very little promotion. An aggressive ad campaign is a signal that a company is not marketing on the quality of its product.

Yeah all that matters is that the product works, if the marketing is done wrong I could care less because the product is what truly matters :) Good commercials may be more convincing then bad ones, but in the long run the quality of the product is what matters not the commercial.

Broadcast television has gotten really extra ridiculous via the indisputable fact that's so less intense priced to furnish "truth" shows than classic scripted shows. American Idol and best Loser might want to correctly be stupid, yet they're elementary moneymakers. there is also an argument to be made that this decade has been the golden age for television drama via type of outstanding shows which have come out of the cable universe. shows like the Sopranos, The wire, The take care of, Rescue Me, or maybe Battlestar Galactica manage moral ambiguity and personality progression in procedures television has never performed earlier. that's no longer in simple terms that television has gotten extra ridiculous -- that's gotten extra chic too. there is extra of each and every thing available, the best and the undesirable.

Commercials don't really do much for me personally. I might try a sample, or ask a friend, and then go by that.
I mean, comericals and stuff can lie, so its good to have a truthful opinion to back it up. And if the products good, and I use it, a commerical isn't going to sway me very much.

I actually think the worst commercials entice me the most. The better commercials often have second rate products, at least in my opinion, and those crappy ones - well they just seem more honest.

But I think you are right about that little geiko thingy. I'd like to squash him flat!

I don't pay much attention to them, use that time to do other things. If I like a product I buy it and if I don't then I don't. Don't be feeble minded and be swayed by what you see on TV or in magazines.

If the product is good, the commercials don't matter. I got Tivo, I don't watch them : )

If I like a product, I generally don't care how it is advertised.
