VC's were awarded during WW I to two of three aircrew. AC was biplane. Gunner did not get the VC - not offcr?

The VC is awarded without any regard of rank. The fact that there are no gunners is maybe because that they also already had a grade

The Victoria Cross was awarded "For Valour". The recipients Rank made no difference.
