I went to mow the lawn today and my sister told me I can't because the vibrations are not good for pregnancy, I am 7 weeks. I would like to mow, it's something I enjoy. Is she right?

I mowed our yard until I was 8 months pregnant! I would've mowed it all the way through, but my husband made me stop at eight months.

My neighbor mowed her lawn during her first trimester without any problems. However, take into consideration the temperature and make sure that you have plenty of water and take breaks. As far as the vibrations, I don't think that it would have any effect on the baby if you're only 7 weeks. If you were futher along, he or she may feel it but I don't see how it could be harmful.

You can mow the lawn while you are pregnant. Now depending on how well your pregnancy is going will depend on how far through the pregnanacy you can mow. Get with your doctor though and make sure he/she does not have any problem with you doing what you enjoy!

EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!!! WHAT IS OK FOR ONE ISN"T ALWAYS OK FOR ANOTHER!!! I did mow the lawn when I was pregnant as well. My first child I mowed when I was 6-7 mo and with my 2nd child I didn't know I was pregnant yet and all is well. Ask you doc just to be sure and also don't do it if it is hot. Not only do you risk hurting the baby, but also yourself. If the doc ok's it, then I suggest doing it early morning or later evening when it is cooler.

No go ahead and mow the lawn. That is an old wives tale. Probably told by wives to get lazy husbands up off of the couch and outside to do the yardwork. Most doctors will tell you to keep doing the same things during pregnancy as what you were doing before pregnancy. Unless you are a high risk then you get to do NOTHING.

I had a baby 21/2 months ago and I mowed the lawn all summer long with this baby and with my other daughter as well. I found most people told you not to do ANYTHING even remotely active......there for why everyone else gained so much weight during their pregnancy's!!!
Wishing you the best of luck!

Unless you are having complications that is a total myth. Just wait til you are alomst due people will tell you to sit on the washing machine during spin to induce labor, that is false too. The most dangerous thing about mowing would be the exaust & since you are outside you should be fine!
