Editing to say: WHY would women CHOOSE to have their uterus taken out???? A woman's vagina is shortened, scarred and dislocated by hysterectomy. Hysterectomy's damage is life-long. The uterus and ovaries function throughout life in women who have not been hysterectomized or castrated. No drugs or other treatments can replace ovarian or uterine hormones or functions. The loss is permanent.

Gynecologists, hospitals and drug companies make more than 8 billion dollars a year from the business of hysterectomy and castration.

While the cause of endometriosis is unknown we do know that it is an estrogen-driven disease. And the body's natural anti-estrogen is progesterone.

We know that when a woman falls pregnant, often endometriosis will disappear, only to return again after pregnancy. There is some very strong correlation between the two. This suggests that the sex hormones are involved and that high progesterone levels produced in pregnancy play an important part in controlling this disease.

Most women will find that they can reduce their dosage of progesterone after 7-12 months!!!

No one is suggesting progesterone cures endometriosis but we certainly know, based on empirical evidence, that it appears to play a major role in controlling its distressing symptoms. We know that women who stopped progesterone felt great for a few months and then suddenly, after progesterone stores had washed from the body, the disease would flare back up.

Most women with endometriosis remain on progesterone cream for maintenance and pain control, and adjust their dose when necessary, increasing when indicated such as in times of stress.

YES, I've been there. Endometriosis causes very severe pain and even when the doctor does an ultrasound and it comes back normal, it doesn't mean there is nothing there. Obviously there is if you are having that amount of pain. And I feel for you because I have been there too. I finally talked the doctor into giving me a hysterectomy and that was the only thing to ever help. You must get your doctor to take your pain seriously, for he needs to medicate you with narcotic type pain relievers and it sounds to me like he is ignoring or downplaying your pain. Get another doctor if you can. Endometriosis pain is extremely painfull. Birth control pills are a "first" standard type of treatment for endometriosis. But they don't always work, and the side effects are awful, like weight gain etc. If you want to email me, I can share with you what you are going through, I have been there and it is like living in misery. No one but you knows how badly it hurts. Physicians are required to treat your pain issues seriously, and if they don't get a different doctor.

Skip the "home remedies". Make an appointment with a Gynecologist and explain your problem. Also, you have a lot of anxiety stemming from your sister's problem and now your fear of the pain you associate with your periods. You need medication for anxiety, too. See if the Gyne will help you with that, or go to your family doctor. There is help for you...but you may have to be persistent about getting it. Good luck.

You need to find another doctor you should not be suffering like this. I'm your already fixed and are not having more children there are methods to remove the uterus and leave the ovaries for a normal menopause.

Honestly I suggest you go to a foreign country and pay about $1000 cash for a historectomy. That's what I'm trying to do at this very moment. You can't get a historectomy (even if your tubes are tied) in the USA if you don't have at LEAST 3 kids. I know this from personal experience. I understand exactly what you are going through and I wish NO ONE ever had to go through it. Quite frankly, I'd be better off dead, and yes, I've tried. Unfortunately I was interrupted. Don't ever let anyone tell you "suicide is not an option" because it IS an option and it may be the ONLY option to end your pain. At this point in time it is my only option and I won't last much longer.

Sounds like something I went thru myself years ago. I had a cyst on my ovary (just an egg that wouldn't or couldn't break thru). The doc gave me Progesterone to help break the cyst.
