At first, I thought she was kidding. Now, she is not kidding. What should she or I do to help her?

It's a crush BTW.

I've had friends who had boyfriends when they were in 6th grade, only to find the guy immature and useless in high school. Not mentioning the innocent boy is only in 3rd grade!

She'll get over him eventually, as crushes always do. If she gets rejected, then it'll be an early lesson rather than to face it later on.

If she gets together with the boy, they'll break up sooner or later. Why? She'll realise he's only 9, what do 9-year-old boys do? Play computer games like my little brother?! Your friend will be in high school, only to realise how foolish she'd been.

It does sound sick like what some users say, but it's the art of our human mind. Manipulation into ridiculous relationships- LAUGH with me.

At least this proves something for her. Her hormones are working fine. (:

Was the 3rd grader held back a lot? Is he more like 11 years old? Is your friend especially young for 6th grade?

If the answer to these questions is no, you should find a new best friend. This one sounds nutty.

ahh 6th grade, the most wierdest part of my life..... Well did you tell her the disadvatages to having a relationship with someone that isn't the same age? I mean look of the difference of the parents. Your parents used to love playing on the play grounds all the time, I bet that they wanted to live there all thier lives, now look at them, they have differnt intrests. Just think if one was still in that state of mode? Imagine if your dad wants to stay at the play ground while your mom wants to go talk to friends with a cup of coffee??? How can a relationship so far in intrests be compateble in the future? I mean forced marrages are ok when they learn to live with it, but this is America, we like people with the same intrests. once you tell her this she'll probably think a little of what she's getting her self into. I mean this will blow over when she grows older. Next thing you know it she'll tell this to you as a joke?

Tell her to talk to her parents about the pervert who molested her.

6th graders do not think this way unless exposed to this type of behavior by a pervert at a young age.

She needs therapy

I think you both should realise that "love" is not a word to be thrown around like this. I think you should let her be, just tell her that boys mature a lot more slowly than girls and you think that she will not be in the same mind frame as a guy in grade 3. If she still wants to go ahead, just let her but she will soon get bored

To me that is just sick. Have you asked your parents what they think. My daughter almost 12 and to think that someone her age would like a boy 3 yrs younger is just out there. What would be worse is if she like a boy 3 years old. Kids today need to pay more attention to school work and life instead of the opposite sex.

If shes sure it is real love, then she loves this 3rd grader., but nothing can really happen for awhile, maye they should meet up in a few years or so.

Nothing. As you grow older, you will realise that age aint nothing but a number and we do have control over who we fall in love with. Just let her be and continue being the good friend you are.
