Microsoft has a majority of system installs in the world. It's windows based platform is on 98 percent of the worlds computers.
An upcoming rival is LINIX, which is making strong headway in Corporate America. But they have a long way to go to beat Microsoft.
Finally, watch GOOGLE. They have cash and they are buying everything. They have no fear and are slashing and burning to be the next Microsoft!

I wish to say Apple (Mac user. longtime PC prior to this Mac) But that would have to be in terms of more sales, would have to be Dell. I PC quality would have to be a custom box.
