That happened to me frequently during my first pregnancy throughout the 3rd trimester. It usually came on when I was standing still for too long. If I sat down and rested, I would be fine. Sometimes, it would happen if I was sitting in one position for too long.
During my 9th month, I was at the hospital and they had me sitting down, hooked up to the fetal heart monitor. I started to get dizzy, and then more dizzy to the point where I would have stood up and started walking around. But because I had the monitors on I sat there. I grew even more dizzy, started having tunnel vision, and the sound (to me) grew quieter and quieter. I thought I was going to pass out. I ripped the belt off, jumped up and went for a walk. I was fine after that. I was told that the baby had been resting on a certain nerve (can't remember the name now) and that's what was causing it. He was over 8 lbs when born, but the way I carried him you couldn't tell. He was squished in there, so there was no avoiding organs and nerves.... and especially my bladder.
So that could be the cause. They just told me to do the opposite, if standing, sit- if sitting, stand, etc. Tell her to hang in there!!

Yeah thats normal, just make sure your eating whenever you feel hungry. I would usually feel dizzy and almost faint when I was at work because I wouldn't eat breakfast before I went in. You are providing a life force for another human being, and basically that baby is taking in your energy and leaving you with very little.Thats why during pregnancy you feel so tired. Just make sure you eat when you feel hungry and don't get to hot cause those two factors will make you incredibly sick. You will get light headed and you will feel dizzy so take a few minutes out for yourself and relax until the feeling goes away. good luck.

Does she have a low iron level?
When I was pregnant I got dizzy and blacked out and it was due to my iron level being so low.
She may want to see her doctor and ask him or her about it, if it is her iron level they will likely put her on iron pills which should help her.

During pregnancy, people have a lot of weird symptons. But if you aren't sure, ALWAYS go to the hospital. Better safe than sorry, especially since two lives are at stake now.

Yes, she should have gone right away, or at least called her doctor.
Blood pressure issues are common late in pregnancy and untreated can lead to fetal and maternal death. Bloop pressure problems can cause all of those symptoms.

Have her check her blood pressure and drink more water. Get up from a sitting position slow. Try not to leave her alone when she is feeling this way.

My gosh! Pregnant a week away from her due date, should she go to hospital?
Well, that's what OB-GYN's are for and that's what they get paid to do. Help their patients!
She needs to at least call your OB-GYN for starters. Go figure...
