I know that the oceans are salty and how, but in a study my child did asked how can it be saltier? Opinions accepted.

It is always becoming saltier since the salts on the earth's rocks keep getting washed into it by rain flooding the land and by rivers running into it.

It is also becoming less salty because of uplifts of land under the sea that remove parts of the ocean floor and take away those salty areas (volcanic eruptions or plate shifts).

So sometimes it is more and sometimes less.

If there is more evaporation of the sea water, the water will get saltier.
