I got information on it from my doctor but I want some information from someone who has actually used it or is still using it. How did it feel when you got it and can you still feel it inside you? Also it says a string hangs out. I don't want to feel like I have a tampon in all the time. And how do you go about getting it. How many appointments did it take you and how long did it take to put it in. I'm on the Depo. shot now and have been for over 2 years. But its making me not want sex as much. Does the IUD make you gain weight or loss your sex drive?

How did it feel when you got it and can you still feel it inside you? a lil discomfort but taking ibuprofen would help with that

Also it says a string hangs out. NO it dosent hang out your vagina just out your cervix

And how do you go about getting it. I got it inserted at my 4 week Post-deliver check up. They usually have to order it ahead of time so it may take 4-6 weeks

How many appointments did it take you and how long did it take to put it in. It took tops 5 min for the whole procedure if that! Just 1 appointment

. Does the IUD make you gain weight or loss your sex drive? NOPE not at all promise ;)

They recommend it for women who have had at least 1 child because
1. a woman who has had a full term pregnancy has a slightly larger cervix an the chances of it being expelled are less
2.You run a small chance of becoming infertile.

They do not cause infections! They make infections harder to treat so its recommend you be in a serious committed relationship.

The only side effects I had where mild spotting the 1st 3 months and after that an absences of period but thats a plus LOL

First of all you must already have at least one child before you can get a IUD and you must be monogamous . When the Doctor puts it in you feel cramping but its not to painful. Taking a pain reliever before your appointment will help. It usually takes two appointments to receive the IUD. The first one is to check for STD's and if the tests are negative they will set up a appointment to insert it. Insertion only takes a few minutes. The string in short and very thin you can not feel it or the IUD. Its worry free for up to 10 years depending on the type you get. I think it all depends on the person if you lose your sex drive. You might gain a little weight but not a lot compared to Depo. I think the worst part is there is a chance that you will spot in between periods for 3-6 months but again that depends on the person. But on the upside after about a year you may not have a period at all!

I've had it for about six mo. now you can't feel it in there it's really not the it being in there that is bothersome everyone is different you go to the doc and tell them to give you info on it then you make an appt. they put it in I felt discomfort like little cramps for the day the next day is better i think you have to wait about 2 weeks to have sex cause you bleed lightly I'm not sure but Its not like the depo I know about that one I had it when i was younger and it was fine then i got it again after i had my baby and it didn't turn out so good but anyway I'm having problems with my iud they say it takes about 6mo. to actually take effect as having a lighter per. but I started to get a pain really bad in my right lower abdominal area that would shoot down my leg it got so bad i'd lay there and cry ( what the iud does is shock your uterus causing you to bleed and lets off small amount of hormones so you can get cramping) but I started to get my per 2 times a mo. and since i was gettin it twice a mo my eggs were comin up but i'd get my per before they'd go back down so they were tryin to dominate but it caused me to get a cyst and the reason for my pains that i was feeling was that it ruptured so they tell me to wait a while because i'm at the six mo point but i'm ready to take it out you don't loose your drive or gain weight are you in japan?

I have had an IUD in me for the past 2 years and personally it was the best choice for me.
Most doctors won't put one in people who haven't had kids, because its hard to stil it into your uterus.
I found this link below, hope it helps you out!

Mine they said would stay in for 10 years. I have never felt the small strings and done nothing to my sex drive!

Best of luck to ya!
