I don't really get it. Don't you have the choice before you have sex?
That's your choice.... If i have sex theres a chance there will be a prenancy. It's not the babys fault you were irresponsible.

No matter how hard people try accidents can still happen. Some people, under the right conditions, are just better off having an abortion. What kind of life can a teenager offer a baby? Such a person cannot support herself (in most cases) and certain cannot support a child. Abortion should not be used as birth control, but it does have it place. I noticed others have already brought up the case of rape; health and medical conditions of the mother (cannot carry a child without risking her own life) are another situation.

You're assuming that every unwanted pregnancy results from irresponsible behavior, which is incorrect. Lots of married women get pregnant from their husbands, many even using birth control and it fails, but don't want another child, can't afford another one, have a medical problem that would harm them if they carried it, etc.
And even if it was irresponsible behavior, so what? You've never made a mistake I guess? Look, it's her body -- and as long as that fetus is attached to her, it's part of her body and she can darn well do what she pleases with it (it's not just an idea, it's the law).
Why you're so anxious to judge other people (and with only your pre-conceived [pun intended] notions) is beyond me. Why can't you just worry about yourself, and not try to project your morality on everyone else? If you don't want to have an abortion, then don't. But allow other women the same choice. And let me repeat: abortion is LEGAL.

So, don't have sex ever? I understand your point, but if the correct precaustions and contraceptives are used, there is almost no risk of getting pregnant, if you don't want to. The thing to keep in mind is that there are always accidents, sometimes things don't work the way they're supposed to, and that's when it may be okay to have an abortion.
Think about how awful the life of an unwanted baby could be.

I think you do get it.

But surprisingly, it is cheaper for society to let the women have good abortions than to fix them up after bad abortions.

And it is cheaper not to feed them through adulthood.

Also eventhough there are some adoption agencies .. most want pretty white babies instead of the other colours.

And there is not much support in most countries for the unwed mothers and their extended familes. We as western society humans do seem to care very little about caring for others, unlike some more tolerent cultures.

Society frowns on chucking birthed babies off the cliff or putting them in baskets down the river .or selling them into slavery. and we haven't stoned unwed parents in centuries .. and I suppose it is easier on the parents .. or letting the little girls starve in lean years.

all have been done of course.

All I wanna know is that if abortion is legal, how can someone be tried for "killing a fetus" and go to jail. If it's alive, it's alive right?

If it's not, it's not and it should then only be considered "destruction of property." Right? How is it that the person deciding weather the fetus lives or dies would determine wheter it's a crime or not.

It's also not the baby's choice if you're raped. If you don't want a baby, have it adopted, how hard is that? No, I'm not being ignorant. Just take a few moments to consider whether 9 months of suffering is really more valuable than a human life.

Oh, so you think it would be a better idea to force women to have babies that they do not want and will not take care of, you think that's smarter hugh? This is overpopulated as it is. There are already enough crackwhores out there "raising" babies. I think that the government should force women to have abortions if they don't meet a certain IQ standard.

It's not about Choice really, it's more about convenience and a lack of personal accountability.
Pro Choice Women with no personal sense of value want to reserve the right to be mounted like a dog at a moments notice and their not interested in dealing with the consequences of their actions.

As for rape victims, I sympathize with them and ask the question "How is taking an innocent life, however it originated, part of your healing process?"
If you will give God the chance, your childs life can redeem the pain you endured.
The child will help you to focus on someone other than yourself.

So you are saying choose to be responsible. Fine! And if you are poor, and can't afford birth control, and planned parenthood isn't close if available, it's no sex for you. Someone will live dangerously and accidents happen.
