This is simply a matter of determining the number of days in 100 years, and then multiplying by 24 and 60 and 60 to get the other answers.

Note: In calculating the days in 100 years, you will (of course) consider leap years. Keep in mind that not all century years (1900, 2000, 2100, etc.) are leap years. to be a leap year, the century year must be divisible by 400. So the answer to the problem depends on whether the 100 years includes a "multiple-of-400" century year (such as 2000) or a "non-multiple" year (such as 1900 or 2100.

While not as accurate as the answers above, a useful approximation to the number of seconds in a year is pi (3.1415....) times 10^7 (ten to the seventh power).

The approximation immediately gives pi * 10 ^ 9 for seconds in 100 years, or about 3,140,000,000.

Don't use this for engineering work, but it's useful for back of the envelop stuff.

if you use the actual 365.249 days in 1 year, you can do accurate calculations without worrying about leap years. so 365.249 days times 100 years = 36524.9 days

36524.9 days times 24 hrs per day = 876597.6 hours

876597.6 hours times 60 minutes per hour = 52595856 minutes

52595856 minutes times 60 seconds per minute = 3155751360 seconds.

hope that helps

100 * 365.25 = 36525 days
36525 * 24 = 876600
876600 * 60 = 52596000 minutes
52596000 * 60 = 3155760000 seconds

God, i can't believe i'm answering this question using my knowledge of "Rent." i'm such a girl.

anyway there are 525,600 minutes in a year (true, i've checked it), so multiply that by 100 and then by 60, and there's the number of seconds. (3153600000.)

i guess you just asked days/minutes/seconds though, so 365.25 times 100, silly. (36525 days even, if i'm not mistaken.)

Hi. You want all four answers? 365.249 days. The rest you can just multiply.

These are all estimates since leap years may be included. But using the basic: 365 days/year, this is your answer(s).
-36,500 days
-876,000 hours
-52,560,000 minutes
-3,153,600,000 seconds

YOU'RE WELCOME IN ADVANCE.
