That is a sign of pregnancy but also one of impending menstration.

Your uterus would never be tightly shut.Your cervix is what would be shut.Your cervix is what closes the baby into your uterus. You wouldn't be able to tell this unless you were given an internal exam by your doctor. Your cervix opens and closes at different times of the month, and when you become pregnant your cervix closes very tightly until you start to dilate to give birth.

I'm curious to know how you've determined that your cervix is swollen and your uterus is tightly shut. Self exam or a little help.. If you're worried take a test.

your cervix shuts when you're finished ovulating in your cycle regardless of whether you're pregnant or not. It's your body's way of keeping out infection. Around the time that your period is due, if you were to check it again, it should be more open to let out your flow. If at that time it's gotten firmer and remains closed, then i'd check a test. If you're pregnant, you may have other signs. Look it up on the web if you want to know what the signs are. Go to askdramy.com (askdr.amy?) something like that

Yes. these are some indication of pregnancy but these can be felt by the concerned person after 10 or 12 weeks only. Even if you feel like it ordinarily if may not be regency and it should be confirmed and The early symptoms of pregnancy are - delay in start of menstrual period, nausea, vomiting, uneasiness etc. Further it can be confirmed by blood and urine tests for pregnancy only. in such case it is always better to consult a gynecologist immediately and act as her her advice. We should not assume anything on our own.

Is this question directed at the multitude of ob/gyns who regularly use Yahoo Answers? If not, may I suggest taking a home pregnancy test?
