why did kobe change his number to 24

He wanted to go back to his high school number. He thinks its lucky.

People here have no idea what they're talking about.

It signifies the second half of his career. Having played for 10 seasons, he wanted the new number (24) to remind him to focus, or something like that.

It basically means that it's another "start" of his magnificent NBA career.

Ps. It has no way connected to Lebron's 23 or Jordan's 23, or even his high school number. Guys above me should do research and not make guesses.

Well, for many reasons. People say 1 more than Jordan, he says it is his high school number, he probably will sell more jerseys; whatever it is, KOBE WILL ALWAYS BE NUMBER 8. This sucks cuz I have 3 freakin jerseys with #8 and now I gotta go buy his new ****. I'm sure some fans are pissed. I am, but no matter what, Kobe is my man, gotta support him. PEACE!
