Its out of control. In history, all animals (yes, we are an animal) evened each other out. If there was a surplus, we died from lack of food sources. If there was a shortage of animals, we adapted and evolved by expanding the size of litters and reduced the need for sustenance, etc. Now, we're a 'civilization" that tends to ALL people.. .sick, weary, old, deprived, etc. We keep people alive as long as possible, and that, in turn, has overpopulated our world. the environment is suffering, the animal kingdom is suffering. the world aches. when i decided to have children, i made sure i would only have 2... this at least maintains the population, but doesnt expand it. these families that have 5, 7, 10 children are growing our earth's destruction. i know its not on purpose because its our nature to care and grow as an animal. but, nevertheless, we're contributing to an end. in the end, people will find a balance, but probably the hard way. don't worry... this won't happen in our lifetime, or even our great-grandchildrens lifetime, but eventually it will catch up and the earth will give up or fight back. we need to come together as a people and devise a plan to fight and control overpopulation. it'll never happen, but its something a few of us consider.

I don't think it is about the number of people, but about how we treat the planet. We can't strip it of natural resources without planning for consequences or alternatives. But the earth is a living thing and like all living things it has a way of taking care of itself, and the only thing we can do is take better care of it. Other than that it's not worth getting stressed out over something you can't control.
