the baby can move sometimes with contractions, but not always, and it feels kinda like a tightening all over your stomach and usually holds for a moment.

I didn't remember my baby moving when I was having contractions. Everyone's contractions are different. I felt my stomach tightening when I had a contraction. But I remember I had back labor and the pain felt like menstrual cramps but much much stronger. Also felt pain in my pelvic area. No the pain wasn't close to my ribs. To be certain the pain I felt was closer to my ovaries. Everything will be over before you know it.

Every person will answer this question differently, because everyone experiences contractions differently. It also depends on what your pain tolerance is. And no, the baby doesn't usually move during the contraction, because the uterus is squeezing on him, trying to move him down into the birthing canal.
As a rule of thumb, you feel contractions mostly all over your belly, and lots of times in your lower back. With my 1st pregnancy, they felt like the worst period cramps I'd ever had. With my 2nd, I only had labor pains in my lower back.
If you think you may be experiencing contractions buy are not sure, call your doctor. That's why he gets the big bucks. Good luck!

I can't remember if the baby moved during contractions or not, (probabally because the pain was so bad!)
First pregnancy it was in my back. At the beginning I actually thought I had a backache, I was hacing a bath and I would get one everytime I layed back to wash my hair.
Second one was like constipation cramps times 100. In the biggest part of my belly, all the way around. It is hard to tell at first because it isn't that bad, but the biggest tip is that they come and go. Most pains don't do that. At the end of a contraction, you feel totally normal. It is sort of weird!

Braxton Hicks contractions are suppose to be ONLY in the front (stomache) and varying in times not getting stronger, While REAL contractions are suppose to start in your back and move around to the belly ...right above your navel is the best place to judge a contraction ...Dr's think so too since that is where they put the monitor on you when you go to the hospital. Anyway your tummy should be firm to the touch ..crampy like menstral pains. Varies in length depending on what stage of labor your in

Different for everyone. Could be in the back, sides or pelvic bone. I have had three babies and the pain started mainly in the back.
It's something that you won't miss when it starts. No guessing about it. Back pain and sharp pulling feeling in the pelvic area and vagina.

With both pregnancy's I felt contractions~ I thought braxton hicks were bad, until I felt the real thing.... I had them all over my tummy. The baby did not move during a contraction because my tummy was so hard it was incredible. The thing that no one warned me about was when you have the baby and everything is wonderful...the placenta has to come out when you feel the contraction the doctor pushes really hard on your tummy to get it out.......not fun!!!

With me they were all around front, starting slowly in the back though until my whole belly felt like it was squeezed really tight. The baby did not move during contractions (thank god!).It's different for everybody though and being induced can make the constractions feel stronger right from the start.

Mine were just an intense tightening, all over my belly. Because I labored naturally without meds, the endorphins in my body were amazing and I felt no pain throughout my entire labor.
Ride with them as you would the waves of the ocean...
Take deep breaths for baby...
and enjoy the journey.
