I need help. my best friends mother died a couple years ago. the problem is my grandfather died 2days before her mother died. and I was too distraught to remember how or why her mom died. I have waited and waited for her to bring it up one day but she never has. I dont wanna come right out and just ask because it might be a really touchy subject, and I dont wanna reopen her wounds. she never ever talks about her mom, and its bugs me that I dont have the slightest idea of how to ask her. I dont wanna tell her i forgot, because then she will think like wow my best friend doesnt even care enough to know how my mom died. please help me somebody

Just tell her if she ever wants to talk about her mom you would like to know about her. Tell her you've been wanting to ask her something for a while, but you've been afraid to. Tell her she doesn't have to answer you if she doesn't want to, but you want to ask her a question.

I can understand what u mean, but she's ur friend and it should be easy to talk with her about her mom and ur grandfather.

Maybe u should start telling her how much u love her as ur friend and that u would never do anything to hurt her in anyway. then start to talk about ur grandfather then slowly work her mom in,

She might want to talk about her mom but she just need someone she can trust to talk with.

Tell her the reason u forgot how r y her mom dead because u were so upset over the death of ur grandfather.

if its been 2 years it shouldnt be as difficult for her to talk about. Go ahead and bring it up, I think she has healed enough to be able to talk about it now. Just explain to her why you dont remember, Im sure she will understand. Shes your best friend, dont worry.... ask her. Good luck to you, take care

Find out where her mom used to work, hang out etc. then just ask one of her aquaintances who does not know you.
