Just finished a four week, 2 hours a week class and we are expecting Oct 31st. Your classes, whatever the schedule or duration, should probably finish up at least one month to one and a half months prior to your due date. As you probably already know, your due date is a two week window which is only an estimate, so to be sure you can finish all the scehduled classes well before this due date. It will give you time to prepare your birthing plan with all your new knowledge. I would also highly recommend taking the classes at the facility where you intend to give birth - you can meet some of the staff, pre register (you don't really want to mess wtih that while in labor), and take a tour of the facility including birthing suites, nursery, and mom's rooms....Good Luck!

It depends on the length of your class. If your glass is 4-5 weeks you definitely dont want to wait until the 8th month because chances are good that you'll have the baby before you finish. Some classes are only 2-3 weeks, some are as long as 6 weeks. Our classes were around 6 weeks. I started the session that was around my 7th month to have time between finishing and my due date.

Some people want to start around 3 months, and others about a month before the baby is born. It depends on what you are more comftorable with, and at what gestational period labor classes in your area allow you to begin taking classes.

OK the best time for me is like the eighth month. Its right by birth so everything will be fresh in your mind. It sort of scares you but prepares you at the same time. Going to Lamaze is like a stepping stone to birth so if you take it too soon in your pregnancy then you will be thirsty for your due date to come and drive yourself insane. Plus most girls are past their seventh month anyways so you would want to be at that stage too. Good luck. I found it to be extremely informative, interesting and helpful.

7 or 8 months...close to delivery so it's fresh in your mind when you go into labor, but not too close that you don't make it through the class because you're delivering your baby w/out your exercises. Good luck!

Your best bet is to try and time it so that you finish your classes shortly before the blessed event.
(of course this is a personal opinion) It worked well for us.
You don't want to be the one they carry out of class screaming, "I can't have labor now! I haven't finished the class!"

While your in your second trimester you should be looking for them, they sometimes book up quickly and you have to wait for them. You can take them at any time during your pregnancy, I took mine in my 3rd trimester. That way everything was fresh in my mind. Good luck!
