So many things we believe in are yet unseen and only assumed to be around - UFOs, aliens, angels, even God (i mean no offence).

Many of the eastern religions or philosophies say that all of life is illusion. The word in Sanskrit is "maya" which interestingly enough has become a more popular name for girls in western countries in recent years.
One problem with labelling all of our world as illusion is that we may come to believe that nothing we do matters, which can make us lazy, or worse.
I take a middle road on this one, based on my understanding of something said by my teacher. I believe our world is real, and this life is real, but our perception of this life/world/etc. can be illusory. In this way, I retain a feeling of responsibility for my actions, but I remember that I can't control the outcome or even see all the options objectively.

Not everyone believs as you assert, for example, there is Determinism.
Determinism is the philosophical proposition that every event, including human cognition and action, is causally determined by an unbroken chain of prior occurrences. No mysterious miracles or wholly random events occur.

No, we are not living in a world of illusion, God and angels are real, other people have testified the other 2 are real.Sometimes I think there is a parallel dimension.

the world is real. the unseen has an impact. there is a constant spiritual struggle going on, which is where i prefer to battle.
