How many of your babies have laryngomalacia and or tracheomalacia also? I am wondering how common it is. I know the two goes hand in hand.

Both my Girls had reflux but outgrew it at around 12 months, both were put on zantc to control it. They did not have laryngomalacia or tracheomalacia, but I found this article that may help http://www.chestjournal.org/cgi/content/full/119/2/409.

All three of my babies had reflux, but only my second has laryngomalacia and tracheomalacia. She is a special needs baby with a very very rare chromosome disorder though. We don't know if she would have had them anyway, even if she were a normal kid, or if they were caused by the chromosome abnormality. She is still on a G tube at 3 years old. (Her 3rd bithday is TOMORROW!!!!!) At some point, surgery will be considered, but at the moment, it's not a good idea. She is on Reglan and Zantac. The other two were on Zantac, but grew out of the reflux at around 12 months old. Hope this helps!

My daughter has reflux. She was on Neocate. She has been having trouble with gagging and lots of air in her tummy, so the doc switched her to a soy formula. So far it has not helped. She has not been "diagnosed" with either of the things you mentioned, but they do sound like some of the things she does. She is on Prevacid, Reglan, and thickened formula. She also has a g-tube and fundoplication. The fundoplication is where they twist the stomach around the esophagus to tighten the opening. Food can still go down but can't come up as easily. She does not eat by mouth yet, but hopefully will get to soon. She is almost 11 months old.

My son had horible reflux for the firs tyear of his ife, but it never caused any other problems. He was put on Zyertec and that seemed to help coat his tummy and whatever else needed to be coated so that there were no additional problems.

I hope your baby is okay, and gets better soon. I know that refulx with your baby can be very frustrating and tiering. Good luck!
