I would say either university of pennsylvania or cornell, with tufts coming in a close 3rd. as far as I know they are the only vet schools considered ivy league. naming one of them as 'best' would depend on what magazine you were reading or what criteria you were considering.
i've thought a lot of vet school and done a lot of research and you should know that all of them give heavy preference to state residents and to get accepted to one where you aren't a resident is near impossible. in most states, something like 1 out of every 4 or 5 residents who apply gets accepted and 1 out of every 50 to 100 non-residents gets in. also, many state vet schools charge 10,000-25,000 tuition for residents but more like 40,000 for non-residents. therefore, if you get your heart set on a certain school you should move there and establish residency ASAP. if you're a guy or a minority your chances are somewhat higher since most vet schools are full of twentysomething white females. good luck

What difference does it make? Are you not more concerned with what kind of vet you will be, rather than what school you will attend?

I don't know what the number one school is, but I know U.C. Davis is up there.
