I don't know if there IS a theme or pattern that exists or is changing.

almost all will have good triumph over evil.
(lots)
many will have good and evil at equal strength
"Constantine"
many to most will have good prevail at the last moment...or in unexpected ways
"the last days" or "the lion witch and the wardrobe"

I liked how good was shown to be quietly in the background helping the lovers (watch the dog) in
"the lake house"
or
"fluke"

Sometimes good is there, but god seems missing:
and great example of how we may make our own heaven and hell
"what dreams may come" or
"the five people you will meet in heaven"

I liked the recent movies of folks who are cursed who are making the best of it...
"the league of extraordinary gentlemen" or the upcoming
"ghost rider"
or "hell boy"

The best example is the star wars movies. It is the classic good versus evil epic struggle. The scene that summed it up best is when the emperor asked Anakin if he was ruled by his own self interests, and Anakin said that the sith were ruled by selfishness, and the Jedi only live to help others. That is the core values of good and evil.

it really depends on the movie but in some movies the line betwene good and evil is very hazy(not black or white just shades of gray)
this is a direct reflection of post-modernisim in socity this can be seen in "V for vendetta" where as good and evil can also be seen as two compleatly oposits where good MUST destroy evil such as in "Lord of the Rings" this is a very old form of good vs. evil but it works.
