There are a lot of child molesters that would like that and I don't like them so I say no.

It's 18 in most states here, but if most kids are having fully consentual sex around the age of 16 anyway, then why not kick it back a few years?

I am not saying that 16-year-olds should be having sex, but lowering the age of consent to 16 would definately cut back on all the "Statutory Rape" suits that happen every 2 seconds, regardless whether the "Minor" was willing or not.

We already have too many registered "Sex-Offenders" on the registry that are being wrongfully thrown into the same class as those sickos that go around preying on toddlers, for having fully consentual, safe sex with someone who (Should be) wise enough to make thier own decisions about which direction in life they are heading in.

If they wanna mess around & get pregnant at 16, then that is thier buisiness.

It's not fair that the older person should have to be jailed & registered as a sex-offender simply because the person he was having sex with was under 18.

I say, let 16 be the limit, but NO younger, we don't need to have sickos going around & abusing thier privlage to have sex with minors.

In Medievil days it was 12, but the lifespan was only 36-38. Now with the average lifespan being 75, shouldn't the age of consent be 24/5??

If you're in the US and the age of consent isn't low enough for you, see the following list for possible candidates to move to.

What too, first 16/ then 14/ then 12, then 9... where does it stop....how young does one want their sexual partner and that is all this question is about for those who want to participate in
this kind of activity/even the world seems to embrace this concept of the younger the better..................sex with young children.

No, it would encourage immature kids to have sex without being ready for the consequences. I don't believe in sex outside of marriage, so encouraging kids to make grown up decisions about sin, is ludicrous.
