Not only gnats, but I also once sucked in an asian beetle. Not tasty.
I love the reaction anyone has when they suck in a bug,t hey start spitting and sort of doing a little dance, like maybe the dance will help to get rid of the taste and the embarassment but you just end up looking silly.
