Ok, here is the problem I'm pregnant and I have been having a cold for about two or three months now. I have been telling the doctor I'm seeing and the nurses, all they keep telling me is to take this and take that. I have been following thier directions, but with no results, my cold is not getting worse, but I know I read somewhere that pregnant women shouldn't have colds for more than a month. What should I do?

Is it possibly allergies? All sorts of things change in your body when you get pregnant, so if you didn't have them before...you may now.

I had this too! I was told not to take anything though because it was dangerous for the baby. I was told it was "just a cold". It turned out to be something called "walking pnuemonia!"

It could have really harmed the baby. Get them to listen to your lungs, check your throat for strep, etc. Stand up for yourself and get another opinion - get firm with the doctor.

A month is a really long time. Even on baby tylenol it says to go if the probelm isn't gone in a few days. My doctor said one week for a cold.

talk to your OB I have heard of girls developing allergies while pregnant. S/He would probably have a good idea or some other doctor to refer you too to get a 2nd opinion.

You might want to get checked for allergies. I never had allergies before, but when I got pregnant, they hit me hard.

Good luck.
