it all depends on how you use it
now if your a 14 year old slut who acts like a total doorknob(everyone has touched her) than yea its not a good a purpose
is also depends on if your really there for like friends
i used to have a myspace and i deleted cuz i was really addicted
i used it for friends and keeping in touch truLY!!!!! sumtimes i used it for meeting other people but only people that are friends with my other close friends...like volleyball teamates
i kinda like it but it makes you reallly addicted and in my case it had me doing my homework at 3 in the morning
you just have to watch yourself closely because there are many predators out there and you have to watch out
friendster is better
and even facebook
myspace makes it easier for not only predators but little children even more at risk

I used to be absolutely obsessed with myspace. I was on it 24/7 and I ended up ignoring my school work to hang around on myspace...I now realize how stupid that was and I had gotten rid of my myspace because I wanted to start the school year off with good grades. Myspace really is additcting because you can communicate with friends and you find yourself browsing and looking at other people's profiles until times flies by and you have been on it for 5 hours. I use it for chatting with friends (not anymore because I don't have one). It is really fun but personally, it is a waste of time. Communicate by phone!!

Ok...here's my Real Answer...
Yes i do use it to chat with my friends from school, and also my friends that moved away. Most of the people I added as friends i kno personally, and are mainly family. I use it to look up people i havent seen in a while, such as my friends from elementary school that went to other schools besides mine. I make music videos and post them on the site too. I think MySpace is a fun way to chat with people. I think the purpose is jus like anyother personal website, people jus choose to take advantage of the site and abuse it...and thats where problems are made...The way i see it ....Its a good way to keep in-touch with my close friends and family...im about to graduate from high school and go to college..and i can communicate to my people through it.

I do have one. I have recently used it to find old classmates from the elementary school I went to before I moved to another state. I think it's useful in that way. It's better than reunion.com or classmates.com because it's free and you can find out more information and get in contact with people easier. It's been very useful and I've been fortunate to find just the people I was looking for, or they found me.

I originally joined because a lot of my friends were on it. I made a lot of friends and met up with some. I have to say I love music, so I'd say about 90% of the time I'm researching a lot of new bands.

It's good for finding local musicians, dates and venues they're playing, downloading free music.
For anything else, though... there are so many creeps around, you can't take it seriously. Some of the pictures are good for a laugh.

yes. i use it for keeping in touch with my friends, esp the ones that don't have cell phones, or live far away. it's also a place to express myself, cause i can personalize it any way i want to. i have this really cute contact box that has these fairys in it and it's all sparkly and glittery!

yes, i just started one mainly to keep in touch with some of my family members who don't live close to me. it's fun to see what they're up to. I'm not sure how long I'll have it though, i had one before and got rid of it. you do really have to be careful, as someone already said, not to give out personal info., such as name and address.

I think Myspace is great for the people who use it properly.
It's the perverts, the people who whore themselves for attention, and the people who give out all of their private information (school addresses, work addresses, etc) that ruin it for everyone else.
