I support legalization of all recreational drugs. That's right, even heroin. If some one wants to use, it ought to be their right. It is after all supposed to be a free society.

Alcohol is legal, with an age limit. Ask any 15 year old what is easier to get, booze or dope, and they will always answer dope. Dope dealers don't check IDs.

Say a heroin addict has a $200 a day habit...he has no job, so he has to steal. If that same heroin were available at the CVS pharmacy for 20$, then there would be far fewer victims and the poor guy may even hold down a job.

The jails are full of non violent drug offenders, and it costs us a fortune to keep them there. With the money we would save we could make sure that all citizens had health care.

lets say you had 30 thousand to spend, and you had to choose...lock up a drug addict for a year, or pay for grandma's medicine..which is more valuable to society?

I would support a law to legalize marijuana. If made legal, it will actually keep some people from doing it because some people do it just to be doing something against the law. It will also bring in revenue for the government becuase of the taxes they can place on it.

Marijuana is not something that we should be legalizing. It is a drug, and it is harmful to ones system. We are still suffereing the reprucussions of nicotine "legalization". I don't see why we need to put another drug on the legal market. Its dangerous, does no good UNLESS in a medicinal situation, it is addictive, and it can lead to the addiction of a harder, more dangerous drug.

Besides, why would we want to support a generation where it is better to be high than intelligent?

Yes, I think that alcohol and cigarettes are more dangerous than marijuana, so how come they are legal. I say legalize marijuana. I just think the drug companies are apposed to it cause it would take away a lot of their business.

yes, I would. Especially with these three strikes laws becoming so popular. Our penal systems are filling fast with folks whose crime is the possession of a naturally grown herb. Cigarette companies make millions. Breweries and wineries are making millions and take millions of lives. We really don't hear much about someone smoking some pot and wrecking their car. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but I do think it less likely than someone who has been drinking.
I don't smoke pot (but I used to) I don't drink often. I don't smoke cigarettes any more. In my experience it is the pot that is the least dangerous.

As long as "under the influence" laws while driving, working, etc. were well defined...sure. What do I care if somebody wants to toke up in their house? Doesn't hurt me.

Yes.

I would support any movement to end prohibition on drugs.

For reasons why, look up alcohol prohibition and learn from it.

Majority of the people in the US won't legalize it if there was a referendum or voting.
