She had very strong yellow urine, which really stains. And carpet stain removers don't work.

Vinegar and water. Works like a charm.

Use a small amount of vinegar (few tablespoons) in warm water. Dab the mixture onto the spot, make sure it gets very wet. Put a towel on the spot with a weight and let the towel soak it up.

The towel should be 100% cotton and absorbent.

Ammonia and an iron. Pour the ammonia on the stain and let it set for about 10 minutes. Then take an old white T-shirt and wet it (get it damp) then put it over the spot. Make sure the iron is on the highest setting. Then take the iron and put it on top of the t-shirt that's over the spot. Count 20 seconds and then pick the iron up. You will see the iron is cooking the stain right out and onto the shirt. You may have to repeat this a few times to get the stain completely out. It's a cheap and easy method I've been using for years and recommend to anyone.

Try oxiclean spray on your carpet. I would get a steam cleaner and I buy resolve carpet cleaner and it works great....Just for spot cleaning I would use Oxiclean or you could use vinegar and water on your carpet stains too. They also have Urine Begone. I believe you can buy it at any pet store like Petco`s and I had heard that it was really good to remove pets urine.....Good Luck to you....

Nature's Miracle, available at any pet store (or the better ones anyway). It is not a typical carpet cleaner as the active ingredients are natural enzymes. It is a little on the pricey side but it works. I have been using it for years and it has never disappointed me. It is made by Pets n' People Inc.

Mix boiling water and dawn detergent together and pour it on the stain. Let it sit a few minutes and then blot it up. This is how I cleaned my carpet and it even got kool-aid stains out!

I cleaned mine when I moved in with my current roommate with a carpet cleaning machine... first cleaning and pretreating it with the stuff that came with the machine (resolve I think it was) and then twice with Oxy clean . The oxy worked.... or maybe cleaning it 3 times did... Anyways, after I did this my roommates dog just remarked the same spot a week later. We pulled up the carpet and laid tile-with a couple area rugs. It looks nice and is easy to clean.
