Ok, at the beginning of Lost, the others were talking about a book by Stephen King at their book club.... Did anyone happen to see what book it was?

I've been searching the internet and most people think it is Carrie. I have read both Carrie and The Shining and I think Carrie has a lot more to do with Lost than The shinning. Carrie had telecanisis, and that is similar to the "abilities" that Walt seemed to have. Could Dharma have been an old "training camp" for people with telecanetic abilities? Some government project to train people as a supernatural army, or "breed" people with telecenetic ability to make a superiour race of humans? Like forced evolution? And the Others are who is left from the original project maybe? They may be the children of the original subjects, and were abandoned when something went terribly wrong? hahah I could go on for days! But of all the King books I have read And after searching for cover art , I think It is Carrie.
