This is for a research paper. My teacher has given me the topic "religeos vs. political issues" christian only though. what she means by religeous vs. political issue is something like the whole removing prayer in school and taking out one nation under god from the pledge. I'm interested in medieval europe, so i would like to do something that happened then, or just anything from before the 1900s. I have to have chosen my topic and turn in 2 sources by oct. 9, please help.

You have a thousand years of events to choose from. In early medieval Europe Christianity was politics. By Charlemagne through today nearly every event in Europe and America has been religious vs political.
Some high points, Henry the eighth, Galileo, Inquisition, the partitioning of the new world, etc, etc.
Google clerical fascism.

Hmm... that's a pretty broad topic. Hildegard of Bingen is a particularly interesting character from medieval times. She was one of the medieval women mystics. She was very involved in politics. She sent letters to Popes, Kings, and Emperors. Maybe you could find something about her.

you could choose the topic of Roman Catholicism and Christianity
(no they aren't the same) and why Martin Luther left the RC Church
and why thousands were martyred during that time, the evil methods that were used on innocent persons who chose to die
rather than compromise their beliefs.

Why not a paper about Joan d'Arc? She was a religious figure trying to free her country from English rule, it could fill the bill for you.
