You will have to pay for this service it all depends on where you live. if you live in australia you can apply through crimcheck http://www.crimcheck.com/ or just search google for a trust website. these things arent free and there are security issues involved. in some cases especially for a police check as an employer you would need the perosn applying as an employee to give consent

Quite obvious that you are not in law enforcement, or you would not be asking such a dumb question, "like on a police computer".

It is against the law in just about any state or country for a police officer to run you through, "NCIC", if they are not holding you in their presence or have your car pulled over.

There was a time when you could ask a friend in law enforcement to run a criminal background check for you on some body else. (Now they will loose their job if they don't have probable cause and holding you in their presence).

You will only waste your money with internet detectives that say they can obtain this information. They have only public information that is avilable to anybody who wants to read it. If you think they have access to a police computer for "NCIC", you are dreaming.

Search the superior court records yourself where you live over the internet as the majority of their records are available free if you have a valid name for their computer to search.

That is classified information that can only be obtained through either paying someone to get it, paying an organization to get it, or snooping yourself.

The software the police use for this is connected to a database that is not given out to the public for use... There are many sites out there that "sell" information or provide it. You can obtain information on court cases and search if a person has been in one for what reason on the web free of charge for certain states.

Are you speaking of a person in prison? If this is the case do a search for: Criminals in __________ State.... I think you can find a listing. I know I can for the state I live in.
I wouldn't recommend using a police computer unless you are authorized to use it. - If you were you wouldn't be asking us how too.
