Well, for one, hamsters have many upsides. Tell them about the upsides and breeze over the downs. Here are some to start:
1. They are low maintanence
2. They don't cost much
3. They don't need veterinary care
4. They are excellent beginner pets
5. They do not need much space.

my mum didn't want me to have a hamster at first cos they re mined her of mice and rats but, i told her hamsters are smaller and they don't have long tails, which i have found is what freaked my mum out the most, she hates long tails on rodents, see if that's the problem, also if you handle a hamster it becomes used to you and becomes friendly. If all else fails ask for a Guinea pig, they're a bit bigger and live longer than hamsters but are just as lovely. I've had both hamsters and Guinea pigs and recommend them as pets they're lovely

until you are old enough to have a place of your own its up to your parents to decide which pets are ok and which are not...
while hamsters are not mice - they are still small rodents..
they are not great pets either - they are nocternal and prone to biting... I did have hamsters as a kid and if you want one you have to accept the negative things about them too...being nocternal will mean they make a lot of noice at night - chewing on the bars - running on the wheel...
if you and your family dont like this - then get a Guinea Pig or rabbit instead... or wait till you are older and have a place of your own

my mom was the same way. then i showed he that i can be responsible. i would feed take care of and i let her know that she doesnt have to see the animal at all if she doesnt wana. if u want to really impress her u should put together a presintation convincing her that a hamster isnt a mouse. good luck

I consider Twinkle is a particularly lovable identify, and "tinkle" is the toilet euphemism, no longer Twinkle! Have amusing together with your hamster, and consider to do your study to supply it the great care viable.
