I got my nose pierced a few years ago and I have changed the ring many times. But the one I have on right now has a backing to it, and it's screwed in to the earing. I tried to take it off and change my nose ring but the backing kept twirling with the earring when I tried to do it. How do I take it off? I've been at it for almost 30 minutes now. My nose has even become red from all the twirling!

Some backings have to be squeezed to let go of the post (especially good for a nose ring, yes?). They look like a barrel backing with a couple of small wings, minutely sticking out.

Take a break and try again. You could be making the area swollen which will make it harder to get the ring out

Not sure? If after a while it still doesn't come out go to the emergency room/urgent care center... they will do it for you. They get odd problems like that alot. I would hate to see you get hurt from trying to get it out.

Drop by your local piercing shop...they'd likely help you out pretty quickly and most wouldn't even charge.
