They're shown by Yahoo! as having 154 points, but according to their Stats they have never answered a question. Where did they get those 154 points? Plus, they've asked 34 questions, but it looks like they get to do it free, without its costing them any points. How do they do it? How is that possible?

easy to answer. they work for yahoo answers. most of the workers are point gamers and answer their own questions to get large amounts of points.
Most "point leaders" are workers here, and most questions they ask are marketing questions they have to ask.

Sometimes I see that I am awarded one point just for logging on to Yahoo Answers. Maybe it is every time, but I haven't been watching.

u get 1 pt every time u visit yahoo answers, and then if u get best answers that is 10 pts. when u choose a best answer u get 3 pts.

Voting would probably do it, if you did it often enough. Plus you get points back for "best answers."
