Use anti-perspirant? Wear two shirts, like a white T under whatever shirt you are wearing.

I've had a similar problem related to overactive thyroid. Until I went on medication I was heat intolerant and would sometimes sweat profusely under the arms. Be sure to find a good antiperspirant, and just as importantly make a wardrobe lifestyle change. You can still dress attractively for work and other occasions, and the changes work.

Buy cotton underwear - and that includes cotton bras. The cotton allows perspiration to evaporate and doesn't trap it against your skin and clothing. Do not add extra T-shirts or clothing because that will make you perspire worse than ever. Do not over dress by wearing layers. There are underarm shields and clothing protectors you can buy that attach to your bras and fit under your arms to absorb moisture without staining your clothing. Check out www.shop.com for disposable ones, and www.kleinertsshields.com for underarm shields.

Stop wearing nylons and pantyhose. Synthetic material will make you perspire. Make sure your blouses are made of cotton with very minimal or no synthetic fiber at all. Buy attractive shoes and wear slacks made out of cotton or very light, somewhat loose flowing fabric so the air circulates around your legs. Wear light weight cotton socks with your slacks. You may need to start wearing shoes in 1/2 to one full size larger than you do now to allow enough room for the socks, but it is worth it to prevent sweating. Tight clothing makes perspiration worse. The clothing styles today are nearly identical to those in the 60's and 70's and the tighter styles made my perspiration worse.

If your hair is long, start wearing it up or consider getting it cut. Long hair is like wearing a hat all year long. My thyroid tests are now normal, but I've found I still can't wear synthetic fabric or layers without perspiring unless I'll be outside in the middle of winter.

Try changing your deodorant. If you sweat that much, arm & hammer is a really good brand. Make sure you buy anit-persperant & not just deodorant. Anti-P is to help you not sweat & plain deodorant is just to help you smell good. It should say it on the label. You can also try using baby powder on your under arms, then applying your anti-p. Between the two, it should drastically reduce the sweat marks. You may want to carry anti-p. in your purse & re-apply after you've been outside or running around a lot.
Another option is to buy tight fitting under T's and wear them under your shirts. Get a variety so that you can wear different one's under different style shirts w/ out them showing. For example, one's with very short sleeves, just so that there's enough material to help absorb under your arm, but not enough to show past the outside shirt's sleeves. Try getting a few w/ V necks, scoop necks, and any in a nylon/ spandex material that will fit tightly & seemlessly under your clothes.

A friend of mine has this problem. She swears by Mitchem deoderant. You have to use it for 2 or 3 weeks and the build up stops the sweating. Try it you have nothing to lose but a few dollars.

One other thing that can help is to wear only natural fiber clothing and avoid the heavy cotton T-Shirts. You can also use witch-hazel solution (near the rubbing alcohol in the drug store) on your arm pits before you put an antiperspirant (not a deodorant) on. Good luck.

I used to have this problem and I tried every deodorant you could possibly try. The best thing that has worked for me is Degree for Women. It works. I don't sweat hardly ever. If I do, its not nowhere like it used to be! Hope this helps!

As much as you do not want to hear it, this IS something that you need to see a Doctor about.
Your glands may not be "overactive" but "enlarged".
There is nothing on the market that will make this stop, or lessen the amount that you sweat.
It may even be something to do with your Thyroid.
Blood tests will not hurt. In fact, they can be VERY informative.

Actually you might want to try using Menen ( an anti prespirant for men) or you might even try putting baby powder.
Just my 2 cents.

Best of luck ,

Alex
