live brine shrimp is real good.. frozen is good also..and blood worms frozen or live..fish will grow faster with these foods.. i took the female out now and the male is puttin the eggs in the nest..i put them side by side in jars, when he built a huge nest and she was trying to get to him.. so after a while i put her in with him ( about a hour).. now about 2-3 days i'll see the babies..feeding them is hard.. if it is warm still where u are u can get green water from a pond..there is tiny rotofiers in it( u need a microscope to see them). the pet store should have or can get frozen rotofiers too.

Generally brine shrimp, or blood worms. Some people recomend live food, and other freeze dried. I've never found it makes much of a difference. I tend to avoid live, or frozen blood worm as they can carry diease, and spoil easily. Live brine shrimp you raise yourself are great. Just be sure not to over feed to much. Honestly if you are feeding her a good diet already there really isn't a need.
