They are both have the same talent but there coming into the draft at the same time. Both were incredible football players. Also, for those who would pick Jerry Rice. You don't have Joe Montana or Steve Young. We're talking about a starting from the ground up, you are building a team around these two players? Which would you pick?

Even without Steve Young or Joe Montana, Jerry Rice would've won Super Bowls. Barry Sanders was a great running back for some years but he never won a Super Bowl. So I would have to pick Jerry Rice.

Depends on the other people on the team. When Jerry Rice came up he couldnt catch a cold, now the question is did he finaly figure out how to do it because of Montana or was this something he did on his own?

So with that said, I'd have to go with Barry Sanders even if I only got him for 7 good years. His injury seasons and early retirement. Still better than nothing, I'm almost affraid to think what he could have done with a real QB and O Line. Two things he never had in Detroit.

jerry rice, barry sanders is great, but not a fourth quarter come back player, in the draft you pick the best player regardless of the position, to build a team you need a coach

Jerry Rice easily. Barry was overrated. He would give you big gains but couldn't convert 3rd and short. Also he was susceptible to big losses with his lateral running. Even with a mediocre quarterback with Jerry Rice all you have to do is throw it close and he will make a play. Also Rice proved he was a winner. What did Barry ever do for the Lion's? I know the team was worse but the Lions still stunk.

i've got to take barry sanders a running back means alot more then a wide receiver because he will make it easier to pass but a good wr wont make it easier to pass. with the moves barry has if he were to stick aorund longer hed be the best running back ever. jerry would be a good first round pick but the question would be more like would you pick walter payton or barry sanders first pick?

Barry Sanders. WR are a dime a dozen if you have a running game.

On MNF the question was; Which Mississippi player was the greates, Rice, walter Peyton, or Brett Favre. I say Walter Peyton. He never was on a great team until he was past his prime. He was a one man wrecking crew.

I would go with Jerry Rice just for the simple fact Jerry in his hay day will be very productive with any half decent QB

Jerry Rice is the greatest receiver of all time. He would make any QB look better, he just happened to be with two of the best of all time.
