when this happened to me, I found that the shower was on the other side of the adjacent wall. My particular problem was that the grout had worn away in some of the small mosaic floor tile and the bottom wall tiles. If you find that there is a bath or kitchen next to the hall, look under the sinks for damp/wet spots. A shower can develop leaks behind the on/off control, or where the shower head nipple (pipe) screws into the pipe in the wall.
Sometimes water can leak several feet from where you discover the wetness.
Feel the baseboard in the hall to determine if it's wet/damp near the wet spot, or perhaps originating a foot or so further away.

Leaks around a chimney are possibly the #a million roof difficulty. The chimney catches blowing rain which runs all the way down to the roof.......the chimney is often located in a close-by the place roof runoffs converge. The "flashing" (metals strips around the chimney) could have been defectively put in - or the roof repairer basically re-worked what replaced into there while they worked on it. i does not be delighted if a roof repairer informed me it replaced into $500 plus exertions & supplies for him to return out - - - - - i could initiate getting suggestions from buddies and pals approximately yet another enterprise. they could desire to verify the flashing - - - and could evaluate making variations to direct most of the water removed from the chimney: we had a "saddle" placed between the roof and top edge of chimney so each and every of the runoff washing basically working into the flat edge of the chimney......and roof repairer put in metallic shims to direct most of the water coming down the roof removed from that area.
