Do you know the tune "Are You sleeping, Are you sleeping, brother john, brother john, morning bells are ringing, morning bells are ringing, ding ding dong, ding ding dong."

To that tune it's: (each new line is the next line in the song)
negative b,
negative b,
plus or minus square root,
plus or minus square root,
b squared minus 4ac,
b squared minus 4ac,
over 2a, over 2a

hope that makes sense and helps :)

I started by memorizing what was under the radical sign. Then I added the -b+or-, then what was in the denominator.
Fantastic that you're doing algebra; my son did that too when he was in 7th grade. Soon he will be taking Calculus and getting college credits in HS. He's working like a dog, but it will pay off!

First of all, congrats! That's an awesome achievement. I did the quadratic formula last year and actually found it fun. (weird) Anyway, I memorized it by just doing it a bunch of times. I also got to complain that it was terrible to everyone by reciting it. lol, you'll get it. Just keep doing it.

I took Al 2 in 7th also, and all i have to say is practice it. I would always try to look at an example and set it up the exact same way every time. If you get in the pattern it should be better, at least it was for me. Best of luck!

Think of a sentence with all words that begins with the letters A B C D. It would be catchy. All you would need to remember is where to put the negative signs.
Your taking ALgebra 2 your smart, you could think of something too.

Pish, be proud of yourself for doing Alegbra 2 in 7th grade. :D

However, if you absolutely must memorize it, do about 10 problems, over and over, and always write the formula out each time. Repitition usually helps me *shrug*
