You call Akhilleus gay, you'll see that his spear is made of good bronze and you won't like the way he sticks it in you.
And if you don't know that Patroklos was his wife, you really don't understand diddle to the Iliad.

First off as someone mentioned Patroclus lets point out that Patroclus was Achilles cousin. While I enjoy the story of troy put forth in the Iliad it only seems that it would be fair to say that Achilles being gay or Bi would have been irrelevant,as it would have been to any Greek alive at the time the story is supposed to take place. The Greeks did not have the hang ups about sexuality that we carry around as the baggage of our puritan past,it would have been perfectly acceptale for him to enjoy the company of both, although even in that society a woman would have had to take precedence over a man for obvious reasons. And in the society at the time young warriors were often apprenticed by accomplished warriors on a one on one basis, and it was not unheard of or uncommon for those relationships to have a sexual component. I hope that answers the question well enough.

Not gay in the modern sense, but the friend he loves, Patroclus, gets killed by Hector. Yes, it's a relationship, but no to the strictly male-oriented bit, because the whole beginning to the Iliad is him arguing with Agamemnon over some woman he likes to...
Yeah. Lets not get graphic: The battle scenes are gruesome enough.
