all these answers are good. also try laying on your back with a pillow under your knees . this will reduce pressure to your spine. keep your legs up often . if it gets really bad take Tylenol which is safe during pregnancy.

If you are not currently pregnant, you can use a heating pad, or take a hot bath or shower all you want. But if you are pregnant, hot is not a very good idea. Best of luck to you.

well- to be on the safe side - I would not use a heating pad or elec. blanket due to the electromagnetic waves they give off-you can make a heating or cooling bag out of dried corn , rice and pop it in the micro for about 2 min- or for a cold pack put it in the freezer- take care d

i've heard they are generally ok if not too hot.
but what works for me with back pain is lying on my side with a pillow in between my legs.
i am 34 weeks pregnant now.

Yes as long as it is on your back and not too hot. Also try a warm(not hot) bath...this has always helped me.
